Lisa Cooper Hudgins

 

Dr. Hudgins is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Pediatric Director of The Rogosin Institute Comprehensive Lipid Control Center for 21 years.

Prior to that, after completing medical school at The University of Pennsylvania and her pediatric residency at Jacobi and Albert Einstein Hospitals, she spent 15 years in patient-oriented lipid research at The Rockefeller University.

Her first project was a collaboration with The Rogosin Institute to treat familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) patients with the (then) experimental procedure, LDL-apheresis.

She continues lipid-related research at The Rogosin Institute and Cornell in conjunction with her clinical pediatric lipid practice that includes a large number of patients with heterozygous and homozygous FH.

She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the FH Foundation and a principal investigator for the national FH CASCADE Registry and the Rogosin Institute homozygous FH biorepository.
